
CM Punjab Laptop Scheme Empowering Students in Punjab, Pakistan. The government of Punjab once again launched the much-anticipated Punjab Laptop Scheme for 2025. This initiative, spearheaded by the Punjab Information Technology Board, aims to promote digital literacy and bridge the technological gap among students.

Punjab Laptop Scheme
The primary goal of the CM Punjab Laptop Scheme Punjab Laptop Scheme is to enhance access to technology for students. Especially for those from underprivileged backgrounds. The Laptop scheme was initiated in 2011 to support talented students in Punjab by providing them with free laptops. The scheme aims to enhance educational opportunities and help students overcome obstacles in acquiring knowledge and professional excellence.
Objective of the Scheme
The primary objective of this scheme is to encourage academic excellence among students by providing them with technological support. By distributing laptops, the government aims to;
- Support students in their educational pursuits.
- Enhance digital literacy among students.
- Facilitate research and academic projects.
- Bridge the digital divide among from different backgrounds.
Annual Laptop Distribution
Each year, 100,000 laptops are distributed to outstanding students studying in public sector colleges and universities across Punjab. Additionally, high achievers from Matriculation Examinations under the Punjab Boards are also included in this initiative.
Eligibility Criteria

The Laptop Prize Distribution Scheme covers a wide range of students from different educational backgrounds. The following categories of students are eligible.
Undergraduate Students
- First-year/First-semester students enrolled in 4-year BS/ B.Sc. Program in;
- Medical and Dental College
- Agriculture Universities
- Veterinary and Animal Science Universities
- Technology Colleges
Marks Percentage
Must have secured 60% or above marks in annual system or 70% or above marks in the semester system in the last examination.
Masters Degree Students
First-year/First-semester students enrolled in 2 Year Master’s Degree Programs.
- Must have secured 60% or above marks in the annual system or 70% or above marks in the semester system in the last examination.
Evening Students
- Last year’s remaining eligible evening students will receive laptops in this phase.
- Only students who were already registered or declared eligible will be awarded laptops.
- No new names will be added to the existing list.
Matriculation Achievers
100 top students from each of the nine Provincial Boards, Technical Boards, and Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education.
400 top students each from Matric and Intermediate Examination in other provinces, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit Baltistan.
MS/ M.Phil. /PhD Scholar
- Newly admitted MS/ M. Phil. / PhD scholars from public sector institutions in Punjab.
- Must have secured 60% or above marks in the annual system or 70% or above marks in the semester system in their last examination.
- Must not have received a laptop in the previous year’s scheme.
Federal Universities Islamabad
Top 10 students in each department of public sector federal universities in Islamabad and their regional campuses in Punjab.
Students of Deeni Madaris
4,000 laptops will be awarded to students of Deeni Madaris through the Auqaf Department. Merit criteria will be devised and approved by the Chief Minister before distribution.
